Becoming involved in Decennial Census efforts can span many levels of participation. The goal of this type of outreach is to educate trusted agents and community leaders, who will then educate and motivate their community to fill out the questionnaire.

The Census Bureau has begun to provide a number of handouts, brochures, posters, and toolkits meant to assist in community outreach efforts. Read about the 2010 Decennial Census Communications Campaign Plan and how the Bureau will be targeting different audiences here. These resources can be found at their 2010 Census Web site: 2010.census.gov.

The State of Ohio is in the process of developing Ohio-specific promotional materials that can be used across the state. Materials created are in support of the Census Bureau’s mission and goal of a complete and accurate count of all American residents.

Documents made available here and on the Census Bureau’s Web site are free for download and distribution. Speak with your Partnership Specialist for copies of materials created by the Bureau.
